Should I turn off my time capsule?

Hi, I just got my time capsule set up and was wondering should I turn it off when I'm finished at night? It seems pretty hot ...

Mine has never been turned off...
Neither has my AppleTV

No issues on either

I keep mine on 100% of the time, even when I turn off or put my computer to sleep.

Both my TC (when I had one) and my AEBS get hot. I would however suggest leaving it on, because you're likely to mess up your router settings by turning off and on.

Just make sure it has plenty of space around it to get proper ventilation.

Mine's on 24/7 as well. Make sure you've got good ventilation around it and that it is on a solid surface and you'll be fine.

You may want to lift it an inch or two. My is flat on the desk and runs 24/7. No problems yet, knock on wood...

TC will spin down the HD when not used over time, so it will not shorten the life or hurt it.

Things are meant to be on 24/7 regardless how hot.
