what is this american flag and why can i not get rid of it???

Keyboard Language.
Remove It:
System Preferences
International
Input Menu (Tab)
Uncheck Show Input in menu bar

Uncheck "Show input menu in menu bar"
EDIT: Dang I'm to slow.
Nothing against the flag, I removed it because it doesn't match the color scheme up top
that was my reasoning hahah
