Photography apps (Can someone recomend me some)

Hey guys, I am totally loving the camera on the iphone 4 its fantastic, im not much of a camera person but I have really taken to this camera.

Could anyone recommend any good photo apps for taking images with to get different styles and effects? I have no idea about any of them and when I search I can only seem to find apps that let you edit photos after.

I also think I saw someone post something about a panoramic style app but I cant find the post and its name.

Thanks for your time

HIPSTAMATIC. I dont recall the price ($1.99?) but well worth it! It uses some cool lenses, different film styles to mix and match.

This is one taken with it

Mill Colour, Actioncam, and kth's Camera Pudding (just look for kth with the brown top and beige bottom lens icon, it's not in English but is VERY good).

AutoStitch is my hands-down favorite. Amazing idiot-proof panoramas and photo sizes up to 20 MP when stitching together multiple photos. When using the incredible quality of the new iPhone 4 camera, you get fantastic results!

I've attached a couple of larger photos that were stitched together using AutoStitch and multiple iPhone 4 photos to create the wider perspectives. Neither of these images were touched-up with the exception of resizing in Photoshop to make the download tolerable.

Camera+ has replaced the official camera app for me too.

PictureShow is excellent for applying retro effects after the fact. It's currently my favorite.

I have hipstamatic and I like it but I think there's more hype to it than actual value IMHO. There's a free app called CameraTOY that's pretty similar if you want to see if you like this shooting style.

PhotoForge used to be great but I'm starting to think it's abandoned. Looks pretty bad on the iP4. the developer seems to be focusing on the pricier iPad version and doesn't answer email. Iris is a good alternative.

If you want to see a lot of examples of what these apps can do search flickr groups for "iPhone 4"

I agree about Hipstamatic, UI us a little convoluted but it's really cool. Also might want to try these free apps:

Format 126 - offers some good filters and easy to use.
Mill Colour - great color control with some decent preset filters.
BlurFX - good at making "blurry" shots...duh.
Pudding Camera - this is a really good app (even though it's in Korean). It offers different types of lenses and films. Takes nice photos but really needs an iPhone 4 - iOS 4 updated.

Have fun.

All of my camera+ pics turn out way, way too dark. Is there a way to fix this?

That's just one of the many filters camera+ has. The image stabilization option is worth it in itself

Camera + is my choice for shooting these days.

CP Pro is also very good (used it as default for a long time).

Photogene for editing photos. Photogenius isn't bad but and neither is PS (photoshop) Mobile.

Great apps that are photo-related include: Hipstamatic, ColorSplash, Diptic, TiltShiftGen, ToonPaint, VideoPano (prefer it over Pano).

I just bought camera +, my question is, why does it take so long to snap a pic with stabilization on, and does the camera take better pics through the app vs the native? Thx.

Photogene seems to be the only app that let's you straighten (rectify) your photos—a feature that I use often and lots of the published pics here and elsewhere could really make use of that… (I hate leaning horizons p. e.) Camera+ has the exclusive option to set focus and exposure separately on shooting some ambitious photos and that works very intuitive and fine (use a second finger). And it has some nice filters too. Wish it had a video option.

The standard camera app stays on my first homescreen (and NOT in a folder) because it's the one that is ready to shoot fastest.

For panoramic pictures, I use both Pano and VideoPano, both great apps! Got some amazing pictures with Pano.

Example:

Just downloaded Camera+, still testing it, but looks promising.

Planning to get Hipstamatic as well, seen some great sample pictures of it on this board.
