depends upon what you're doing with the powerbook, if you're just doing some web browsing light gaming DVD watching, you won't see a difference
however if you're going to take a plunge into doom 3 when it's released for mac their will be a noticeable difference

ive got a powerbook with the new 9700 in and it flys... games are not a problem on it at all

its upto 30% faster than its highly acclaimed predecessor (not my words ati's )

My PB has the new ATI Raedon 9700 (128 MB VRAM). I use it for Photoshop, DVD movies and web surfing. There is not much difference compare to my old 15" iMac screen. But it didn't cost that much more to have it on the PB
