2010 Gaming - Throttling Issues Windows 7

Hello,

I received a new 2.13 4GB 256 Air yesterday and it is acting very strange under W7 while gaming.

The game starts out fine with moderate settings, but a few minutes into it, the game starts to stutter/throttle.

I have never had this issue under W7 with my old 2010 and am wondering if there is something I am missing.

I have Lubos Fan Control, tried throttle stop, and am using stock clocks. I have tried both stock drivers and the latest from nvidia.

The laptop stays cool compared to my 2011 running the same game. (MW3 & MW2)

Thoughts?

Heres the report.

Look at the GPU! This is after 5 minutes of MW3 @ Native Res / Native Image Settings. Everything else set off.

MW2 does the same thing. Although, I dont remember seeing my GPU hit 95c after five minutes before either.

Anyone else have this game or MW2 and want to compare 5 minutes?

Opened her up, removed the thermal pasted and installed some Antec Formula 6.

GPU temps dropped from 90s to mid 70s.

Games great now.
