2018 Macbook Air...

Hello,
I have a 2018 Macbook Air that lately is having issues. It will randomly shut down when the lid is closed and often times the fans will ramp up when no apps are open. Sometime the fans will continue to stay on when the lid is closed too. Not sure what diagnostics I should do to check the system.

I recently had a similar problem with a 2018 air, I formatted the drive and installed OSX fresh. Runs like new now.

If that doesn't fix it there could be dust inside the case affecting the cooling and worst case it could be a hardware issue.

Would vacuuming the grills and ports help with the dust? That is, suck some of it out?

Could be a faster solution.
