I just bought two 23" ACD screens and I wanted to know if there was anyway that I could check their performace. (or lack thereof.) Are there any tests that I can download for ghosting and other issues with screens? I've heard of LCD test, but I was wondering if there were anymore that I could run to check for any issues.

I just bought one today as well. First thing you should do is check and see if they are the new models. You can do that here:

Ghosting is really a subjective thing. If you dont notice it, I would worry about it. Chances are if you arent playing games you wont notice it if it is there.

The big deal with the 23" is image persistance. This is where on certain backgrounds an image will stick for awhile. For instance you have a finder windows open, you hide it but you still see a faded version of it. There are some examples on the Apple Forums.

There are some examples. Here is the thread they are from.

Any other issues are really subjective. Such as backlight bleed.

Even if you run a test, unless you can interpret the results they arent any good. There is a good app on Macupdate that will let you do a dead/stuck pixel test, gradient test, etc. Those things would be problems with the display.

Hope that helps.
