2gen iPod battery rattles?

Hi all,
I just opened up a 2nd gen iPod and checked out the HDD. I was simply waving it lightly, and I heard a rattling sound, like something was loose in the pod... I was wondering if anyone else had this problem? This iPod is not working... everytime I turn it on, I get the Folder with an exclamation mark, or an iPod with a sad face on it.. (cute, but rather annoying)...

Any input is greatly appreciated..

if the harddrive is dead then it is most likely the reader inside of the drive going back and forth. also, are you interested in selling it?
