So I just pulled the trigger on a new MacBook pro to upgrade my aging core duo. The only thing I need to figure out is how can do my current recording setup. I use an external mixer and the Mac as Skype/team speak/whatever to record with others. Snce i currently have a headphone jack and line input I send my mic audio from the mixer to that line input while taking their audio from the headphone jack to the mixer. How can I do this now with only one jack? My understanding is the new jack doubles as a input/output, but I need to do both at the same time.
I'm not against getting a USB/thunderbolt mixer, but would rather not spend a ton of money if there is a cheaper interface or adapter.
