A few forums I post on let you delete your own posts. Some of them you can delete indefinitely, others, you can only delete within X (usually 5 or 10) minutes of posting it. This would be great for those times when we accidentally post in the wrong thread or double post. Any chance of that happening on MR?

It's sometimes awkward that most members can't delete their own posts, but we had to set it up this way because of problems with post-deletions in the past. Instead, you can report your own post and ask a moderator to delete it for you. It's not quite as fast, but it produces the same result.

Some people edit their post to say "moderator please delete" but there's no guarantee that we'll see messages like that within a post. Reporting the post is both safe and effective and we don't consider it to be a bother, so don't hesitate to ask when you need the service.
