Acrobat Pro 9 problem?

Hello, I just installed Acrobat Pro 9. When I click its icon, nothing happens. The program won't launch. It seems to have opened but nothing appears on the screen.

However, if I right-click a pdf file and Open With --> Acrobat Pro, it works fine. What might be the problem? Or is it just how the program is?
