So I currently use my gmail account as my apple id. Last night I setup a new @me.com id. But, I want to continue using gmail for my mail, calendars, etc. So, I don't think i really _need_ this @me.com address. (No interest in their email).
So, I'm wondering if I can (or should) just add the new @me.com email as an alternate to my existing gmail apple ID? Good idea or bad idea?
Here is what I ideally want from these service:
- be able to use Facetime, Find my Friends, etc with my gmail apple ID, and possible with my @me.com as well. I really only want the icloud automatic backup stuff.
If I can't have both, then I would prefer to stick to my gmail apple ID for simplicity, and basically never use my @me.com.
Any advice?
