Address book empty. Deleted?

I went on vacation a couple weeks ago and exported my address book to my iPod. I didn't think anything of it until today, a day after returning, and all my contacts are gone. Um, what's the deal? I checked my iPod and there aren't any contacts on there either. I am quite concerned. Anybody got any ideas on how to get it back?

I never backed up my address book, so I can't revert.

Happened to me a short while ago, too. But without backup I have no idea how you could get it back.

sort of unrelated question but how do you transport your outlook adress book to the osx included one? Thank you.
