I'm trying to do the "Extend your monitor" to the apple TV.

I haven't done this since upgrading my iMac to 10.9.2 and the Apple TV to 6.0.2. Everything used to work fine.

When I click the "connect to Airplay Display" the sound will shift to the Apple TV/Receiver/TV. But the screen stays blank.

iTunes can send video to the Apple TV with no problem.

Beamer has no problem.

When I connect to Apple TV Display, the check mark stays on "extend display" and won't let me switch to mirror one of my displays instead.

If I set my regular monitors to "mirror", it also doesn't work.

Anyone have any thoughts?

And the solution is in the comments. Air Parrot Extensions cause the problem...I tried out Air Parrot for like a day then uninstalled it, but I or Clean My Mac missed some parts.

Here is the fix:

1. Open Terminal in /Applications/Utilities.
2. Run these commands respectively:

sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/APExtFramebuffer.kext
sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/AirParrotDriver.kext
sudo rm -rf /Library/Extensions/APExtFramebuffer.kext
sudo rm -rf /Library/Extensions/AirParrotDriver.kext

This will uninstall kernel extensions related to AirParrot. Other solutions around the web being posted are missing the extensions within /Library/Extensions.

3. Enter your administrative password when prompted.
4. Restart your computer.
