I've started Med school and soon am going to be able to use a wireless network connection for all my internet needs. I think they're using the 802.11b?? Not sure, but I think that might be right.

Anyway, I'm planning on getting an airport card for my G3 "firewire", and am not sure whether to go extreme or original. Will I get a network boost if I get the extreme???

Thanks

You're talking about a Clamshell iBook? It will only take the original Airport card (802.11b). Airport Extreme only works with the very newest computers.

That's not as bad as it might sound though. If you're just using it for internet, the "b" speeds are still faster than your net connection. "G" is helpful if you're transfering very large files from computer to computer. On the net it will be no faster.
