That means Compressor uses the lower quality hardware encoder. You can do the same in HandBrake, set the encoder to "H.264 (Videotoolbox)" or "H.265 (Videotoolbox)".

Compressor probably uses the hardware decoder too, so could still be using less cpu.

i use compressor too..issue is that it works only with apple supported formats, thus avi, mkv etc is not recognised

Wow, zombie thread. I’m not sure that the performance issues of Handbrake on Intel cpus in 2019 is very relevant, today. Maybe we can let this thread go.
