If you haven't tried it, download VideoLan Client, or VLC. It's free, open-source, and plays TONS of different formats/codecs. And, it wasn't built by MicroSuck.
Also, theck out http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/17787 for a WMV plugin for quicktime.

I second that.

I tried to use Quicktime with the Divx codec to play divx movies and it didnt work. Then I stumbled across VLC and it blew me away.

This thing'll play ANYTHING you throw at it! And its free! AWESOME!

Between VLC & MPlayer OS X 2, there is nothing you can't play on your Mac...almost.
