Where do designers get to know about so many fonts anyway?

Is there some sort of font pack to buy?

Arial Rounded bold is sort of similar, but it's not as friendly-looking IMHO.

Howie's Funhouse looks like it could pass.

Why in creation would someone pay 14 grand for some fonts??? I'd go in AppleWorks and just draw my own pixel by pixel before I'd pay that $$$.

i think those are canadian prices :)

Adobe Font Folio is about 2200 fonts and runs around (US dollars) $2500 right now (on sale from $3800). the Adobe Type Collection is around 2900 fonts and runs about $5000 but includes licenses for 10 computers. those numbers put it at about $1 to $2 per font weight, which is an incredible deal, when you consider a normally priced professional typeface runs somewhere between $20-$30 per weight. For example, the newly released Gotham Rounded from Hoefler & Frere-Jones is 1 face in 8 weights for $180.
