I am having some problems using the Cisco VPN client. I can connect to the VPN server ok and I can even brows via some proxy servers but I cant get to company internal machines by name. only by IP. And when I do get to them by IP, I get browser errors about me using proxy servers. I can ping IPs but not names.

the VPN client automatically adds some name servers to the resolv.conf file while I am logged in and replaces it with my old settings when I am done.

I feel like I have tried everything. Any one have a suggestion?

thanks

fixed

It dosnt look like any one here is using a VPN client but I thought I would post that I fixed it incase anyone was interested.

It seems that Some Cisco VPN servers have problems talking to some Mac's running OS X. TiBooks have no problems but my Qicksilver and a Cube seem to have this problem. The fix is simple. turn off hardware checksumming and DNS works just fine. If nslookup and DNS are not working but you can get to Machines by IP, then you have this problem. I have the commands you need to run and I even wrote some double click-able scipts that make installing and using the client a little simpler for people that dont use the Terminal. If any one wants these scripts or are interested in what the commands are... let me know.

Good to hear you fixed the problem. I am just finishing off a CCNA but dont have any practical experience yet.
