Just wondering if there was a way to get the music controls when the touch is held horizontally? A 3rd part application perhaps? Anyone been able to accomplish this? Thank You.

I don't believe there is a way. Now I'm not sure but I think maybe this is partially one of the reasons why a lot of people don't like the new iPod nano... because of its accelerometer and the fact you cannot change volume and stuff in landscape mode.

Double tap the home button...music controls will pop up in any orientation.

It will...except in coverflow mode.

Yup- the only thing I do (with mixed results) is start playing music in portrait mode, press the Sleep/Wake button and then if you double-tap the Home button as above you'll get the music overlay both in portrait and landscape- with a little practice I can change tracks and stuff in my pocket. Sort of... :D
