Hey all,

I've been watching Bitcoins for the last 3 years - it has always intrigued me...but there is so much information out there is honestly have no idea how to go about starting.

I think it would be fun to casually build a system, but I don't know where to begin. I have an only Core2 Duo MBP I can't seem to sell, and was wondering if I could mod it to mine bitcoins. I know there is a energy to profit ratio you would obviously need to overcome, but I thought maybe I could just program it to turn on and run when energy prics are way down?

As you can see I really have no idea where to start. I mean you can spend anywhere from $60 to over $20,000. Anyone have a setup they would like to share, a beginners kit they like, or a good resource to use to get started? Thanks for looking!

You'll get nowhere with a c2d chip mate. If your going pc based then it's a strong gpu you need for mining.
