Just restored my iPod touch 4th Gen to iOS 6.1.6 and iPad 1 to 5.1.1. Cannot connect to the iTunes Store.

This issue did not happen before I wiped, however….

Issue also started happening a few hours later on my iPod touch 3rd Gen with 5.1.1.

iPad 3 with 9.3.5 seems to be ok.

Also: can sign in to iCloud upon initial setup, but otherwise receive an error.

There was a period when apple mass updated the certificate for tons of apps that otherwise never received any future updates. There’s also the TLS 1.2 transition as a more secure standard than TLS 1.1 and 1.0. I don’t think iOS 5 or iOS 6 supports those.
