Is this the woman in the Apple ads?

I think I know who the actress is in that space suit in the apple ads. Her name is Catalina Larranaga.

She is mostly a b-movie actress (Softcore Porn!! ). Here is a link to her IMDB profile: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0488561/

I've attached a couple of her pictures alongside a copy of the apple ad. Does anyone notice the similarities or is it just me?

Edit: I saw the new Apple/Intel commercial on TV last night during 24... they had Keifer Sutherland narrating it... is that how the original one was from MWSF?

I didn't notice if Keifer was narrating it. I could see it happening. But i would have to check that next week (hopefully). It would be a good sign about getting 24 to iTVS.

Intel's Thoughts

EricNau said:
The last one makes me think that Intel is actually a little happy to see this commercial. Let's be honest, if Intel really didn't like it, they wouldn't let Apple run it. Right now, Intel wants to stay friends with everyone; they make Apple happy by letting them run their commercial, and they keep their other customers happy by saying "we don't entirely agree with it, so don't blame us."

Intel has had this constant cloud hanging over their head, and it's not even their fault... It's called "Windows"... People get pissed off at their computer and all the viruses, trojans, spyware, adware, etc... They get to the point where they want to toss their PC in the trash... When they look at the source of their headaches, what do they see? Not "Operating on MS Windows is your trouble"... They see an "Intel Inside" sticker on the (percieved) Piece of Crap that is causing them so much misery... When it's actually Microshaft's garbage that is the trouble all along...

It's always been "Intel = Windows" to the casual user (that's not including the wire heads that ditched Windows and fired up Linux or Unix).

I think Intel has to be more than delighted with being able to associate their brand name with a pleasant computer experience... A virus free experience... A blue screen free experience.

And as long as it's Apple pissing on the other PCs, and not Intel, I don't see where Dell, Gateway, and all the others can bitch at Intel over these ads.

I do agree, too, with an earlier post about how Apple should still show off some of the real virtues of the OS... The idea of the kid showing the grandma what her Mac can do (easily) is great.

I think this will come later. Initial ads are going to plant the seeds... Apple is on Intel... not doing dull little tasks. We will then later see OS X in action I think.... or a more experience-orientated set of ads as opposed to the technicalities.

I personally think a new round of Switch adverts are needed. But showing the actual product in action, not some intoxicated chick looking stupid.

Think you're right superhob - and a quick search on robbs celebs shows quite an impressive portfolio of "work".

Who'd have thunk it - the quiet scientist is in fact fresh sex kitten.

Oooooh, is this official or still speculation? Good move on Dell's part if so! AMD has had the leading chips in the desktop market for a while now as far as performance goes....and price :)

I don't want to debate on whether AMD or Intel is better, but do you honestly think that Dell will switch entirely to AMD? I seriously doubt that AMD has the production capacity required to supply all of Dell's chips. If I had to guess, I'd say that Dell was offering AMD chips in their PC's, but probably only half of them will go out with an AMD.

A way to really target and annoy Windows users: make Apple Pop-up, over, and under ads. Even Firefox doesn't get em all!
That would be like those Pop-ups that advertise pop-up blockers.

I can see Apple's ad now:
Do you want to stop pop-ups like this? Buy an Apple.

I agree. After the transition is complete we will see the real "switch" ads. Right now Apple is just giving everybody a heads up.
