Apple Mail having issues- It's randomly copying many emails into the trash?

It is creating trashed emails that are sometimes 20+ emails given that I didn't delete the email since theyre still in my inbox?

I can't seem to understand what causes this? Have anyone else dealt with this?

I'm not sure if this matters-

I'm using a 2.5ghz quad i7 / 4gb ram / Lion 10.7.4 with the latest upgrades.

This issue is pretty annoying.
