so my retina mbp still crashes after some use. this thing is the most unstable mac i've had. smh

Did you ever have the iMessages Beta installed on your system? I just found the other day that it left some nasty residual files and services that were causing all sorts of problems on my Macs. As soon as I killed the services and trashed the files, it fixed a lot of issues with both of my computer.

Is it me, or have Apple dropped the very handy hidden WIFI networking utility.

I can't find this one anywhere now :(

I'm mid-install but it looks like the app has been renamed...

/System/Library/CoreServices
drwxr-xr-x 3 root wheel 102 Jun 20 2012 Wi-Fi Diagnostics.app
drwxr-xr-x 3 root wheel 102 May 1 18:08 Wireless Diagnostics.app

once the install is finished, the older Wi-Fi diag app goes away...

I wish it turned Mountain Lion into Leopard! But unfortunately software just gets worse with time…

Can you be more specific, like what/where are the residual files and services?

As expected

The changes or fixes are the MOST esoteric I have every heard of that will concern about 2% of the users. There is no telling what it might screw up
that is okay now. This is an update that I can easily pass on.
None of the glaring issues were fixed:
Copy and Paste same as in system 7.5 in the 1990's'
No permission to change font sizes in Contacts or add color
No save as...for quicktime movies you record.
No audio in quicktime recordings...
No improvement in iTunes so your music library can be viewed if you
have an ipod shuffle.
Open applications will still stop shut down
Slow boot up
However, since Apple does not much care what users want
this does not surprise me.

Messages are still in the wrong order, new ones just mix in between the old ones. Result: no conversations ever make any sense.
