Apple Releases OS X 10.8.4 with Safari 6.0.5, iMessage Bug Fix

so my retina mbp still crashes after some use. this thing is the most unstable mac i've had. smh

Did you ever have the iMessages Beta installed on your system? I just found the other day that it left some nasty residual files and services that were causing all sorts of problems on my Macs. As soon as I killed the services and trashed the files, it fixed a lot of issues with both of my computer.

I'm mid-install but it looks like the app has been renamed...

Same here. Mine is in the shop. Hoping the graphics card and display get replaced. Which probably means the motherboard.

Any new OpenGL extensions?

Not as far as I can tell, took some screen shots of OpenGL extension viewer before upgrading and the only difference appears to a newer graphics driver on the AMD side at least.

but in the betas Apple asked people to take time on "graphic drivers"..i suppose that they will update and made them on bar with windows performance.

so i guess not ??

As expected

The changes or fixes are the MOST esoteric I have every heard of that will concern about 2% of the users. There is no telling what it might screw up
that is okay now. This is an update that I can easily pass on.
None of the glaring issues were fixed:
Copy and Paste same as in system 7.5 in the 1990's'
No permission to change font sizes in Contacts or add color
No save as...for quicktime movies you record.
No audio in quicktime recordings...
No improvement in iTunes so your music library can be viewed if you
have an ipod shuffle.
Open applications will still stop shut down
Slow boot up
However, since Apple does not much care what users want
this does not surprise me.

1. STILL didn't fix the retina flickering on the bottom screen issue in a unique screen arrangement configuration. Dude at Apple Store said he'll file a radar, but that was since 10.8.1 came out

Have you tried to turn Time Machine off and on? It could be the local snapshots.
