It's awesome to see so many American companies on the list! People can say what they want about the current state of America but we've churned out some awesome stuff.

A health conscious society. People do not look at McDonald's or Coke the same way now as they did ten years ago. Not even close.

Maybe people in the United States, where there's an obesity problem. I don't know about other countries. Still, Coca-Cola owns various things like Vitamin Water, Dasani, and Snapple that are probably looked upon more favorably, and McDonald's has been expanding their menu to things besides typical fast food.

All valid points - but it seems as though those things don't make enough of a difference given their drop in brand value. The again, maybe it's completely unrelated.
