Hey everyone, I have a couple Apple TV 3's and absolutely love them but I was wondering if there's any difference in interface between the ATV3 and the original ATV1 that had hard drive?
I want to get one for my mother. She only has an ipad, no computer, so Apple TV 3 doesn't work for her. Does the ATV1 work like the ATV3? Basically I want her to be able to watch movies I put on the built in hard drive, and I want a photo slideshow screensaver to start automatically after 5 minutes when she's not watching something. The photos being in a folder on the hard drive of the ATV1. Will this work? Or should I just get a WD TV Live with external hard drive?

And would airplay work on between Ipad 2 and ATV1 like it does on ATV3? Ie full display synced on tv?
