I like how a $3,000 computer doesn't come with a mouse/trackpad and keyboard included and was really hoping for an update for that ugly white keyboard anyway.

And also upset there isn't a Thunderbolt Display refresh.

I ordered 6 core, 32GB RAM, 1TB flash and D700. I wasn't gonna upgrade the RAM at first, spent a lot more then I wanted to. Oh well.

Ship estimate: January lol. Just like the Retina Macbook Pros, when you increased the flash storage the ship time went up a lot.

Pricing is not actually as crazy as I thought it might be, I am not saying it s cheap, but hell dual Dual AMD FirePro D500 in the £3300 model? that's not bad at all if its close to a w7000 (which are around £600 each). The only real negative for me is the pathetic default storage,

Maxed out: £7,779.00 / (Converted: $12,742.00 USD)

At these prices the product red version that sold for 977K almost looks like a bargain! :D

Dang, I'm gonna have to think about which one I want.
Max Spec is out of the question.
I'm pretty set on at least 8 core.
the 256/512 question is tough, esp if there is a possibility of larger/faster SSD from OWC in the near term.
D500/D700 is tough too. Not sure I'll ever dent the power of the latter. But it might help the uh, box, last longer on my desktop.
Kinda blows that they still haven't updated the monitor or keyboard to match. And you have to pay for the keyboard and mouse. You didn't have to with the last few Mac Pros I bought.
I know it's just a keyboard and mouse, but heck, if I drop $7k on a computer I'd expect a couple things are to be included.

I spent more than I wanted, but this is what I ordered:

Good config?

I don't need that much video power, so I upgraded the 4 core to 6 and kept the D300, which I believe can be upgraded later. 32 RAM, I just wanted now. I didn't think 16 is enough for this type of beast.

and the sharp display would be connecting to it over HDMI ?
"the Sharp PN-K321 display connects to your Mac Pro through a Thunderbolt 2 port using the included Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable."
So no keyboard or mouse with your $7k computer. But the $3600 monitor comes with a free cable!

----------

No signs of a new mouse, keyboard, or display?

I feel like if so, they cut some corners that they didn't with the Cube. The Cube's elements were designed to fit together quite beautifully: the speakers, keyboard, mouse, and display all fit together.

The 2009 Apple BT keyboard is beautiful, but not sure it's a match for the new Mac Pro. I would have liked to have seen a new display with integrated speakers and new KB/mouse in black, but Apple more and more seems to be a very large company with very few resources—stretched quite thin.
I dont know about that. I work for a large company "with very few resources—stretched quite thin". I've also been to Cupertino. I don't see any similarity between our companies.
Well they are both gigantic companies, but the one I work for is sliding into irrelevance.

Damn, any configuration other than default causes the ship date to move to January. I go to the US for only 5 days beginning of January and that's my only time frame to pick one up.

In fact there is no option for me to receive one :(

6 core with 64Gb ram here we come! :)
notice your ship date changed to January? Add certain items and it changes from dec 30 to January: change from base processor/ram/gram, or add pre-loaded software and you'll have to wait.

Ram available from OWC (macsales.com) in 32 or 64 GB. (pcie ssds not yet).

Sharp 4K monitor seems to only be available with custom build, not finding it in Apple's online store otherwise. Dell has 4K monitors available also, 3 sizes.

I am a little puzzled why Apple cannot even give a keyboard away with it  as it's much like buying a high spec vehicle and not getting the wheels.
