ATV Setting w/TV off

I would like to stream music to my ATV but have the TV off. Currently, when I turn off the TV the ATV stops playing the music. Is there a setting that will let me do this?

Run an optical cable from your aTV to your reciever. Switch the reciever to that input when you want to listen to music when your TV is off.

Well of course something simple and common sense would be the answer. Now I can move my airport express to another room.
