I'm going to purchase a LaCie HD next week and i'm wondering what softwares out there i can use to backup my whole system?
I'm planning to actually make a clone of my system so that i don't need to reinstall the system whatsoever if my iBook HD dies.
Any good backup softwares you would recomend?

Lacie also makes Silverkeeper, which is pretty good, and free. Won't clone a drive, but good for scheduled backups:

I'd look up Carbon Copy Cloner to clone it.

Carbon Copy Cloner? I haven't used it myself, but it's first on my list should I decided I actually need to clone.

    Looks close to free!

Your HDD will come with silverkeeper. The software is ok but I prefer Carbon Copy Cloner it's pretty slick and easy to use. You can clone your whole internal HDD to the external. (in case you are interested in doing so)
