I have a Apple Extreme Base station that had it's wireless crap out but it works fine in "bridge mode" as a dumb switch. The USB port in the back even works. I plugged in a dual bay RAID enclosure formatted for OSX and Windows (I know b/c I plugged it in both machines).

Now it recognizes the drive on Finder but it only transfers over a couple hundred kilobytes before seizing up. I KNOW I'm just a few settings away from this working. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Firmware: 7.5.2
Wireless Mode: Off
IPv4: Using DHCP
File Sharing: on with Airport password
IPv6: Link-local only

Try formatting the RAID enclosure as HFS+ (Extended Journaled). It won't work directly connected to a Windows machine, but they'll be able to access the drive through the AEBS via SMB.
