So i've heard sparrow is dead now - what else is there for gmail? I'm sick of their web interface - its awful. But Mail.app seems clunky and doesn't give me the best feature of gmail - the "send and archive" button, allowing me to keep my inbox clean and tidy easily.

Any other suggestions? Or plugins that fix Mail.app?

Stick with sparrow for a little while longer, then move back to the default mac mail. Shouldn't hvae to pay $10 for a mail app.

Sparrow isn't dead, they just pushed out some bugfixes. There will be no new features, but it's not dead. I still use it and it's as great as ever. Just because Google bought it doesn't mean that you have to jump the ship.

wow, sparrow isn't dead - and it's all i'll ever want from my email client.

I have tried:
Entourage + Outlook
Apple Mail
Postbox
mailplane
+
thunderbird

Sparrow is by far the best for me and I would think most others too.

It's cheap, lite, runs in the menubar...

there is a lite version with adds available for you to try out too.

Sparrow is not dead.
