Blank CD not accepted

OSX 10.3.9
Blank CD is "spat out" without even showing up on the desktop.
What should I do? Help and thanks.

Try a different brand and check that commercial (non-blank) CDs are still mounting.

Yes, movie DVDs are accepted, same happens with variety of brands.

What machine do you have? Resetting the power management unit might help

Blank CD not accepted

Have an old geezer: Dual 500MHz Power PC G4 - Mac OS X 10.3.9 - 896 MB SDRAM
I have gone to System Preferences - Hardware CD - DVD:
"When you insert a blank CD:" 1-Ask what to do.
I have done that, but after a lot of "searching" sounds, the disk is spat out, no icon, nothing.
I have no idea what "resetting the power management unit" is.

Blank CD not accepted

Err... It finally dawned on me the G4 I have does not accept blank discs because it does not R/W...
I burned the files on the disk using LaCie with Toast. All is well.

Glad you figured it out. Everyone makes mistakes. You should consider getting a cheap internal superdrive for that thing...it sounds like you're still making good use of it!
