I have an existing iPhone which I have been using but now want to back up.

If I now plug it into my laptop for the first time to back it up- how do I stop iTunes setting it up as a new iPhone? Will it try to automatically set it up as a new phone??

Many thanks

No, it wont....why do you think something like that would happen?

Because I've plugged it in but a screen has come up on iTunes saying 'Welcome to your new iPhone' - wasn't sure if this meant it would wipe it if I press continue?!

Well, iTunes has to start from somewhere, right?

Ok thanks.

So I have a problem that I stupidly have 2 iPhones that I'm using at the mo but want to make it 1- how can I import the contacts from this phone onto my laptop without deleting the ones already saved on the laptop?
