OK, so I got a new 20" G5. STILL - my wife refuses to strain her delicate eyes across the room so to play all those crazy video clips I got I gotta burn onto VCD/DVD.

Not always possible due to formats of vids etc, so today bit the bullet and bought connector for the back of the iMac that has a yellow 'video' connection and an s-video connection.

So far, when trying the s-video on the telly no joy, resolution on computer goes a bit crazy then settles on MASSIVE WINDOWS. Can't get anything but blackness on TV set. When using the yellow 'trad' socket all I get is b&w picture (poor quality) on the appropriate channel on tv.

(FYI TV make is Hitachi, approx 7 yrs old but with s-video socket on front along with red/white/yellow, 2x SCARTS on back)

Any comments/info...?

My thoughts are that the telly can't handle the refresh rate but still thought I'd see something rather than blackness.

Help me out please...
