iPad Copy iMessages to desktop

Folks - Is there any way to export iMessages into a desktop for future reading? On iMessages, I can select messages to forward but they can only be forwarded to another iMessages account and this does not help me since I need to get it to my email. Even a jailbreak option would work for me..
