Deleting Language Packets: Good Idea?

I was reading somewhere that deleting the language packets that come with various Mac apps might be a good idea. Supposedly it frees up a good deal of space but it wasn't specified and I don't know for sure. If I do this would it likely cause me any problems down the road. I don't surf or write anything in different languages so I don't see this being a problem. Has anyone here done this themselves? Does it free up significant space or should I just let things be? Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure how much space it actually frees up but it won't hurt anything to do it.
