Because I just have to push the issue, I went and chatted with UPS again this evening. Here is the explanation I was given:
This helped me feel a bit more at ease about the lack of scanning since it arrived in Louisville.

Avery G.: Thanks for your time. I definitely understand your concern about the scheduled delivery date revision. and lack of tracking scans. Please note that this is due to special Apple operating plans, not due to problems with the physical movement of the package.
Due to special Apple operating plans, scheduled delivery dates fluctuate on U.S. imports. All iPhones shipped from abroad must go through customs at our main air hub in Louisville, KY.
Your delivery date of 10/02/14 is accurate and we ensure the package will be delivered by end of day on this date.

Thanks. Then how many days after reiving tracking number till you actually receive the phone?
It took a day for me between preparing for shipment and shipped, then it got stuck in China for 3 days.
I just received an UPS email saying my phone will be here Thursday Oct 2nd, the original date. I check the UPS My Choice app and it shows Thursday but when I click it to get details it shows Monday the 6th. It also says it's still in China!
I don't know. I received tracking information 6 days ago.. my phone is still in China.
I'm gonna be hitting the 48h of preparing to ship, I'm really trying not to stress, UPS is almost stupidly overloaded and ontop of it all US airways are going through strains alone due to Chicago fires. The impact on our orders, I don't know, but state side is been ugly.
Same here! Looks like the UPS estimate of 10/2 was correct all along, it just had to clear the customs import at their center in Kentucky.
My tracking status is effed up...

preparing to ship as well...additionally, cs placed a replacement order for me (brand new retail) with a deilver date of 10/23-10/27 and now it's 10/14/-10/20..it should get priority over all of yours... :fingers crossed:

They've changed my delivery date yet again!! Now I'm pushed out until Tuesday the 7th! Was supposed to be tomorrow the 2nd, then the 3rd, then 6th now it's the 7th! This is soooo frustrating!!
I have by two business days. I called to complain and they changed my shipping to 2 day which moved the delivery estimate up by 3 days. However, I have been in preparing to ship for over 2 days now.
Damn you've been "prepared to ship" for over 2 days? I've on my 40th hour lol was hoping it wouldn't go over 48 hours...
Now I have to expect to get my phone on the 13th.
