The plug adapter is the normal one for $29

The 0.2 m adapter is the same thing, but if you have too short of a cord, you can add 7.8 inches to the cable with this adapter.

For example: My car's iPod hookup is a factory connection from Nissan, so I cannot buy a longer cable to use. This adapter will make that cable longer for me. And since I know Nissan will not have this cable available with a lightning plug for my '09 Maxima (even if they did, it would probably be like $60), I will need to get an adapter.

the corded one seems more versatile.

Plus it'll be nice to use 30 pin docks but not dock them :)

Yes. When using the non corded one with the case on, depending on the case, the new connector might not slide in completely. So, I ordered the one with cable.

Or... it could be that that particular individual's 0.2 cable adapter was defective.

We should hold off on assumptions until that person tries a replacement.
