I recently upgraded from MacOS 10.13 High Sierra to 10.14 Mojave and noticed that after booting up, Little Snitch tells me that Spotlight is trying to connect to apple-finance.query.yahoo.com

Can anyone tell me why this is happening and how to disable it (or if it's possible)?
Naturally I can block it with Little Snitch, but I prefer trying to figure out things like this the normal way first.

Thanks for those links. I hadn't read all that before, but already disabled "Spotlight suggestions" and "Allow Spotlight suggestions to look up", so I was puzzled as to why MacOS still tried to connect Spotlight to that Yahoo finance site:

I always block all connections for Spotlight with LittleSnitch.

Does this mean Apple has left us no choice to actually turn this off?

Oh, yes -that's quite bad!
So it looks like the final conclusion is that the only sure way to block this is to use Little Snitch (or something similar).
