I need to find out how much a 1999 Honda Accord LX in excellent condition was worth in 10/2004.

Anyone know how to get this info?

I am helping a friend, who was in an accident back then and he needs to find this info.

KBB only gives current values.

Thanks!

Nothing definitive... but you could go to a public library and search microfilms (is that what it's called?) on those ugly monitor/computer thingies through the classifieds of October '04. shrug

Kelly Blue Book. They come out every year, and a good library should have back editions. Be aware, they establish a range of values for cars (wholesale to retail). The low Blue Book value is generally what a dealer would expect to pay for the car on the wholesale market, and the high Blue Book value is theoretically the highest price a private seller could expect from a private buyer.

I suggest calling ahead, to makes sure they've got the older editions. Also, Kelly Blue Book is online. Not sure if that will help.

Blue Book goes back I believe 10 years, Trying to find a value on a car from say 1985 will be a little harder. I don't know that I would call a 99 as retro just yet.

he wanted the price of the car 2 years ago, not its current pricing.

as in, the KBB today would say $10000

but two years ago it would have said $12000

as an example.
