^^^^Yes, and if it does turn into the final release, they will need to remove the Feedback Assistant.

Hi, I tried to install GM on 10.11 Beta (15A278b)
But i get this error,

OS X could not be installed on your computer !!
This partition map modification would make a windows partition unbootable. Quit the installer

to restart your computer…

So we're only 10 days off from the official release on the App Store, and there hasn't been a GM2 out yet. Any bets that GM1 will end up being the final release version?

I got an update in app store for 10.11.1. Should I update the current 10.11
Unless you want to continue beta testing, I would advise against installing the 10.11.1 update for now, considering it is a beta update, and the release date for 10.11 itself hasn't yet arrived.

Am I indulging in conspiracy theories here or does the fact they are already testing 10.11.1 mean that there is a crucial error in 10.11.0 that they don't have time to fix before Sept 30?

No, 11.1 is 11.1, just like iOS 9.1 was released before 9.0 final.

Is 11.1 released for public beta testers though?

Posted this in the retina MacBook El Capitan thread as well, but this weekend, El Capitan went down the tubes for me on my retina MacBook. Pretty vanilla install, nothing changed, and suddenly it locked up when activating the dashboard via gesture, rebooted, then would crash on log in repeatedly. Took about a dozen tries to get back in and I am still having all sorts of odd crashes and UI glitches now. My install could hardly be more simple, or on newer hardware. I can't see how GM1 is ready for release in this state...

I think I no longer want to continue beta testing. If do not install OS 10.11.1 and I unenroll by following the directions in the link above, will it be necessary to install OS 10.11 Public Release from OS 10.11 GM (currently running with no issues)? OS 10.11.1 Public Beta is already in my "Updates" queue. Will it disappear when I unenroll and OS 10.11 Public Release will show up on Sept 30th?

The 10.11.1 update prompt will vanish immediately once you unenroll.

You'll likely still have to download and install the release version from the app store upon the release date.

Thanks. I just realized, "Download newly available updates in the background" was checked. Did OS 10.11.1 get downloaded and put somewhere? I did not have "Install OS X updates" checked. I did not click update in the app store.

It probably did, but I never had the option enabled, so I don't know where it may be.

Oh well. Thanks. If you happen to figure out where, please let me know.

Edit: Found it in Macintosh HD>Library>Updates>031-35003>OSXUpd10.11.1PublicBeta.pkg

There was also FirmwareUpdate.pkg that downloaded 1 minute prior (Not sure if related to 10.11.1).

Safe to delete?
