I searched before posting, but none of those solutions worked, and I'm trying to avoid deleting my entire library, and moving it all back into iTunes.

Anyway, my external HD started dying on me. I could tell when I would freeze up, and fail to show all the folders I knew were on it. Using disaster recovery software, I was able to save all my files (and not have to re-rip everything).

    What i've tried:
"Consolidating iTunes library" doesn't work because the external locks up when it's accessed, the disaster recovery software was the only thing that was able to do anything with it.

I tried manually editing the "iTunes Library" and "iTunes Music Library" XML file in the iTunes folder, but that didn't work either. All I did was "Replace all" for "H:/itunes/music" to "J:/music/itunes/music" but when I opened iTunes I had exclamations points on all my songs.

Is there any other easy way to tell iTunes ALL my music is in a new location?
