EyeTV Hybrid with Final Cut Express...

I am thinking about getting the EyeTV Hybrid, however I need to know if I'll be able to import the captured footage into FCE and drop it into the timeline without rendering. Anyone know if I'll be able to do this, or would I have to transcode the footage first? Thanks.

iirc it records in mpeg2 but it may be a special mp2, not sure, though eyetv 2.0 has an iPod button that ports it out to mp4
