I have seen a lot of questions being asked over and over again... such as comparisons between 20" LCDs, how long ibook/powerbook battery life is, etc.

Why not create a thread with many of the FAQs.

The thing is, if the newbies aren't running a search to find their answers when the titles are usually specific to the topic, then how are they going to find them if the title just reads something generic like FAQ (which is already used by the vBulletin FAQ BTW).

I dunno, it could work. :)

Good idea, I think a FAQ thread would be great. I am not a newbie anymore but from time to time I still have questions about hardware and software.

When are the next pb/ibook/imac/pm/mMini/iPod/etc update?

Should I wait to buy a PB?
Should I get AppleCare?
My 4gb iPod nano is only 3.6gb

The FAQ thread will only work if people use it instead of starting new threads.

The cup holder on my computer broke...what do I do now? :D

I do wonder though, would anyone actually stop and read the FAQs? How many people read the "Read this before you post" messages? Maybe if there was just a sub-forum where threads deemed as good answers to a question could be transferred or aliased...

You are very bitter about that thread aren't you?

First you create a parody thread and mentioning it again in here.
