FAT32 CompactFlash, files GONE

In a freak accident of formatting from the Canon PowerShot S45 a slew of vacation images have been demolished. I'm expecting that the card it formatted FAT32 and that it's just the directory that got annihilated and that the image data is still there. How can I rescue these valuable pictures?

Should be possible - take a look at http://lists.gpick.com/pages/File~Data_Recovery.htm

Seems to be all Windows software though.
