Greetings all,

My apologies for asking what will probably turn out to be a pretty basic issue with FCP3.

I've managed to compose and save some FCP3 movie formatted files that I'd like to burn to DVD and play in commercial DVD players. I've not been able to simply copy the file and make that happen. I'm sure that it's obvious and that I'm just missing it, but FCP3 is like that for me...a tough nut to crack.

Additionally, I've tried using Cleaner 5 to create a DVD useable movie...the program tells me that a 4.2 GB file will require over 8 hours to create, at a rate of 20 GB/hour.

I know it should be easier than this. Any ideas of where I'm going wrong?

Thanks much,

Pish

You might want to try DVD Studio Pro. Apple's DVD creation app. FCP is for making movies in multiple formats but doesn't do DVD

umm i'm not sure quite what your asking but to make the movie readable by idvd you need to export the movie (as a quicktime movie) with the dv/ntsc codec selected and the quality set to high

that's basically all you have to do

idvd will then read the file and convert it to the format it needs :)
