How does it run?

Not well at all. I have a new 5K iMac with a 395X and Firewatch really struggles to hit 1080/60. If you turn a bunch of things off you can get 60fps some of the time. At 1440p (which is really a far more attractive resolution on that screen) it's 25fps-60fps, but mostly around 35fps.

That said, it runs terribly on Windows too by all accounts for a lot of people, and worse on the PS4 where it can't even hold 30fps.

There is a metal version of Firewatch incoming, which hopefully will help.

I have the baseline Late 2014 Retina iMac, and i run 2560x1440 with medium settings. Some FPS drops here and there, but since its such a calm game its not too shabby! Looks great even at medium!

That's pretty bad actually.. I didn't know they were coming out with a Metal version though, because that does sound promising!

I run it at 3200x1800, with everything turn up and i runs fine for me.
That's somewhat reassuring. Still I'd like to know the exact amount of fps you're achieving. "runs fine for me" is very much subjective. But thanks for the info so far ;)

I don't know what the FPS is, it runs good enough for me to enjoy the game and not worry about specifications.

Fine is a solid 60fps. There's zero chance you've got Firewatch running at 60fps at that resolution, even with everything turned to LOW. It can't even manage a consistent 60 at 1080p.
