ive gotten gameranger to work fine, but i tried opening it at school, and it just sits there loading forever, eventually asking me to enter proxy server information. what do i do? :(

Your school is blocking Gameraner traffic by the sound of things. I'm not sure how you get around stuff like that, not sure if using a proxy would fix it.

Install wireshark at home. Figure out what servers gameranger is talking to.

Then try to ping those servers from home. If you can ping them at home, try pinging them at school. If you can't, they're being blocked.

You could run a proxy at home, that's probably the easiest way to get around a block. DynDNS + proxy software running on a Mac would make life easiest.
