I recently bought an M-Audio Axiom MIDI controller to use with Garageband. It's got transport buttons, rotary knobs, and seperate touch pads which could be useful for drums. Problem is I have no idea how to program the thing! I read the instructions, but they aren't very helpful if you know nothing about MIDI to begin with -- which I don't.
What I'd like to do is set it up so the transport buttons do what they are supposed to -- stop, play, record, etc. and be able to assign knobs to do things like volume, pan, and other useful actions in garageband. The keyboard works by default, but I can't figure out how to program actions in garageband to the controller. Anyone have an oxygen 8 or similar that has it all configured to work with garageband? Can you give me any pointers?
